Alexa Cartwright isn’t looking to jump into a new relationship after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend, Jonathan, but she’ll be the first to admit she’s lonely. Practically everyone she’s close to is moving far away from Bright Park, the town she grew up in, and being newly single only makes it tougher.
So, when one of her friends offers to set her up with a guy friend to chat with, Alexa is on board right away, as long as they keep it platonic. Nathanael “Nat” Van Buren lives across the country, but the way he and Alexa connect, it feels like he’s right there with her. He’s quickly becoming her best friend… and maybe more?
Alexa can’t ignore how her heart beats wildly when she thinks about Nat, but she’s also determined to stick to her original plan staying single until she’s absolutely sure that a man would be right for her. When the opportunity arises for Alexa to meet Nat in person, though, she’s curious to find out if her feelings change—just in time for a much improved Jonathan to show up at her door, offering her what she’s wanted from the start.
** Please note This book contains mild sexual content and frequent profanity. **
This is a complete story – no cliffhanger. It is the second in a series about the residents of Bright Park, but reading the first book is not required. This book is closer to novella length at approximately 30,000 words.

Alexa plucks up the courage to get out of a bad relationship and then strikes up a long-distance friendship with Nat. That’s all she wants, and all she thinks it is because he’s not her usual type. But she’s attracted to Nat, he listens to her, and is there for her anytime, and he gives her butterflies, so love was bound to happen. Or was it? The build-up between the two was believable, both are likeable characters. And it was so fun to touch base with Fifer and Cecil again from Book 1!Product details

Yet So Far Bright Park Romance Book 2 edition by Sibyl Eisley Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
No second-book-syndrome here—I feel that this book is even better than the first in the Bright Park Romance series. Alexa’s troubles are realistic and even common, yet they resound deeply because each one is felt in such a deep way. I was literally wincing during certain scenes with her ex-boyfriend.
I loved the way the ex was handled, too. I simultaneously wanted more drama with him, while being relieved that the existing drama wasn’t blown out of proportion. Anything more would have felt like overkill.
The hero is hot, and I thought it was great that in this story, HE is the one who knows how to communicate—so refreshing. I was so rooting for this couple because I genuinely liked them both. Now I’m looking forward to the next book—can’t wait to get Laurel’s story!
Note I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I predicted after reading If You Run that this author’s future books would only get better and better. Well, guess what? I was right.
This was a nice, flowing, quick read that featured a realistic friends-to-lovers romance. The hero and heroine had sweet, funny conversations that felt authentic. And while the book does contain sex, it’s downplayed in such a way that even readers of clean romances could enjoy this one, which is rare in the contemporary and new adult romance categories.
So why 4 stars instead of 5? The blurb hints at a love triangle, and there isn’t one. I personally don’t like love triangles, so I didn’t miss it. I just think the blurb makes it sound like Jonathan is an impediment to Alexa and Nat’s relationship, and he’s totally not. In fact, the only impediment to their relationship is Alexa’s misguided notion of what she’s looking for in a man. In fact, her ideas on this are SO misguided that I was a little annoyed with her immaturity, and thusly deducted one star from my overall rating. In the end, there really was no good reason why these two shouldn’t be together.
But, all in all, this is a sweet romance that fans of the contemporary and new adult categories can enjoy.
Full disclosure the author generously offered a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review, but I didn’t take it. I downloaded via Unlimited. Why? Because here at Knockin' Books we go out of our way to support indie authors. It's just how we roll, people.
I truly love this book. It made me tear up at one point. I love the plot twist. When Jonathan wanted Alexa back again. Omg I thought Alexa would take him back. I'm glad she didn't.
